Abdominoplasty, Mastopexy, and Brachioplasty

Dear Dr. Longo,

I can't thank you enough for helping me change my life!  I feel like the person I knew many, many years ago.  Every morning I stare at myself in the mirror and still can't believe that's ME!!  Sometimes,  tears will flow down my cheeks because words cannot express how AMAZING I feel.

After having children, I gained a little over 100 pounds and then was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.  I was a smoker for over 20 years.  When my doctor told me that I was going to die if things didn't change, I looked at life a different way.  I stopped smoking over five years ago.  The past three years I have changed my daily routine to exercising and eating a lot healthier.  With all the changes I made the weight started coming off but I wasn't feeling any different.  My skin was disgusting and then I had areas on my body that with all the exercising in the world, it wouldn't fix.

That's when I decided to do some research on elective surgery.  I went to a couple different doctors and not one of them made me feel as comfortable as you did.  I thanks God every day that I found you.  It was like you knew before I said anything, what i was thinking.  What I loved about you was that you were completely honest with me, there is no magic wand.  The other thing that separates you from others is that you actually care about your patients and their well-being.

I knew that I would love my body buy I had no idea that it would change my entire outlook on life.  My self-esteem and confidence are through the roof.  It has only been three months since I had my tummy tuck, arm lift and breast lift and I don't know how much liposuction you performed, but I feel GREAT!!!  My wardrobe is changing all the time, I feel like a teenager again when I go shopping.

Dr. Longo, words cannot express how I feel today.  You will always be part of my family!  Oh and I'm super excited about my upcoming procedure!

Sincerely,
D. Graham

Implant Removal

It started to catch my attention when I approached 60, after menopause.  My entire body had changed.  My perky breast implants I had placed in 1971 had now shaped me like an upside down pear...I was heavy on the top.  I lost weight but the results were the same, still heavy on the top.  I also noticed that if I squatted down, I needed assistance to get back up.  I attributed everything to age.

Finally around Christmas of 2010 I took a tumble on the curb and hit my breast.  The implant started to appear as if it were folding in, with rippling noticeable on my breast.  I proceeded to go to highly recommended plastic surgeons, one in Sacramento and another in Palm Springs.  Both suggested replacing the implants.  And both refusing to take the implants out permanently.  After the consultation with the second doctor, I continued my investigation that brought me to Dr. Charles Longo.  It was like going from dark to day light.  Dr. Longo's opinion was the exact oposite of the other doctors.  He recommended that at my age to remove the implants.  He explained that I had enough breast tissue but would benfit greatly from a breast lift, and to start enjoying smaller, perkier breasts.  My entire being resonated with this suggestion.  I wasted no time going forward with this procedure.  Dr. Longo did the procedure in his own private operating room and facility, accompanied by the most wonderful and loving staff I've ever experienced.

The feedback I get from friends and family as a result of the procedure is indescribable.  I hear everything from "How much weight have you lost?" to "You look 10 years younger!".  And for me, squatting down now is nothing!  I pop right up with no assistance.  Clothes also fit differently.  Tops that couldn't be buttoned up before, are now too big, as I am two sizes smaller now.  Most of all, I have the proportions of a younger woman.

If you can relate to this, I highly recommend you have a consultation with Dr. Longo.  It's worth it, trust me!

Chemical Peel

Before anyone undertakes cosmetic surgery, they need to do their homework, research the procedure, understand the risks and have realistic expectations.  Once you have done all of the proceeding, you need to find the right doctor!  Confidence in your surgeon is one of the most important things you, as a patient, can have.  You need to be able to ask questions, knowing you’ll get the right answer and that there is deep and genuine concern over not only about the outcome of the procedure, but how you as an individual feel about it.  I have had three cosmetic procedures all done by Dr. Longo, each and every time I’ve been treated as though I’m a member of his extended family.  The doctor and his staff have gone out of their way to quell my fears, explain every step of every procedure in detail and have been there any time I’ve needed their support.

My last procedure was a chemical peel, my apprehension was really astronomical!  I read a lot about it and was wavering about undergoing the process.  Dr. Longo and his staff took the time to really explain everything that would happen, what to expect each day and realistically told me how long my recovery period would be.  After the procedure, the follow-up care was outstanding, there were no problems, and now a month afterwards, I’m looking at my face, which is now totally without wrinkles and looking 15 years younger.

Breast Reduction

Dr. Longo performed my Breast Reduction in July of 2010. I love the results, which far exceeded my expectations. One of the reasons I went with Dr. Longo was the extensive consultation. He went into great detail of what to expect and the procedure. It helped me to understand the importance of the post-care directions. I also saw the attention to detail and quality that resides in Dr. Longo. I really felt the individual attention from him and his great staff, which go above and beyond. The entire process from consultation to post-op care was great. I love the shape and contour, they are fabulous!

Breast Augmentation
Hi Dr. Longo,

My son is 6 months old now and has been exclusively breast fed until three days ago when we started him on a little cereal. You did my augmentation in 2001, and I've never regretted it. I've given out your name to many acquaintances and I continue to let people know about the great job you did.

I wanted to send you a testimonial about breast feeding with an augmentation. If any of your other patients are concerned about this, I hope that my information can help them. I had some trouble breast feeding in the beginning, but I don't think it had anything to do with my augmentation. I think breast feeding just isn't as easy as I thought it would be. But, it was so worth it! I would advise any woman who is getting an augmentation to be sure she understands the procedure through and through because many hospital nurses don't understand much about augmentations and blame any breast feeding problems on that. And I was in a very pro-breast feeding hospital.

Breast feeding was worth the trouble in the beginning because I have reaped so many rewards from it, especially with the augmentation. First, my son is so healthy because of it. When I meet other babies his age, I can always tell if they are breast fed or formula fed by the way they are alert and interactive. Second, the bond between me and my son is so strong. Not to mention the health benefits to me for breast feeding. I was able to lose the weight very quickly and it also did wonders for my emotional well being.

I hope that this information is helpful to anyone who is considering the procedure and not sure how that's going to work with breast feeding. I think my augmentation was the best thing I have ever done for myself, and breast feeding is the best thing I've done for my family and myself. I would recommend anyone who is thinking about not breast feeding due to an augmentation to reconsider. And anyone who is hesitant about it because they are afraid they won't be able to breast feed, to rest assured that it is totally fine. Thanks again!
